Comment on "Commutator of the quark mass matrices in the standard electroweak model and a measure of maximal CP nonconservation"

چکیده
One of the outstanding problems in physics is that of "explaining" the quark masses and mixings. The standard electroweak model, in spite of its dazzling empirical successes, provides only a partial solution to this problem by predicting that the quark mixing matrix is unitary. However, the values of the mixing parameters or the quark masses cannot be predicted. For example, if there are three families the mass matrices m and m' (referring respectively to charge —, and quarks) are arbitrary three by three matrices. A gedanken diagonalization of these matrices is supposed to yield the quark masses, i.e., UL mU?? = diag(m„, m„m, ), ULm'Uj? = diag(md, m„mb),

A Basis Independent Formulation of the Connection Between Quark Mass Matrices, CP Violation and Experiment
In the standard electroweak model, with three families, a one-to-one correspondence between certain determinants involving quark mass matrices (m and m' for charge 2/3 and 1 / 3 quarks respectively) and the presence/absence of CP violation is given. In an arbitrary basis for mass matrices, the quantity Imde t 1-ram +, m ' m '+3 appropriately normalized is introduced as a measure of CP violation...
متن کاملThe role of electroweak penguin and magnetic dipole QCD penguin on hadronic b Quark Decays
This research, works with the effective Hamiltonian and the quark model. Using, the decay rates of matter-antimatter of b quark was investigated. We described the effective Hamiltonian theory which was applied to the calculation of current-current (Q1,2), QCD penguin (Q3,…,6), magnetic dipole (Q8) and electroweak penguin (Q7,…,10) decay rates. The gluonic penguin structure of hadronic decays ...

In this research we work with the effective Hamiltonian and the quark model. We investigate the decay rates of matter-antimatter of quark. We describe the effective Hamiltonian theory and apply this theory to the calculation of current-current ( ), QCD penguin ( ), magnetic dipole ( ) and electroweak penguin ( ) decay rates. The gluonic penguin structure of hadronic decays is studied thro...
متن کاملMaximal CP nonconservation in the Two-Higgs-Doublet Model
We study the simplest Two-Higgs-Doublet Model that allows for CP nonconservation, where it can be parametrized by only one parameter in the Higgs potential. Different concepts of maximal CP-nonconservation in the gauge-Higgs and the quark-Higgs (Yukawa) sectors are compared. Maximal CP nonconservation in the gauge-Higgs sector does normally not lead to maximal CP nonconservation in the Yukawa s...
متن کاملFour-Zero Texture of Hermitian Quark Mass Matrices and Current Experimental Tests
We show that the four-zero texture of Hermitian quark mass matrices can survive current experimental tests: it is able to yield sufficiently large predictions for the flavor mixing parameter |Vub/Vcb| and the CP-violating parameter sin 2β, without fine-tuning of the input values of quark masses, provided the (2,2), (2,3) and (3,3) elements of up and down mass matrices roughly satisfy a geometri...
